Students at Kingswinford Academy Celebrate a Strong Set of GCSE Results

22nd August 2024

Students at Kingswinford Academy are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results.

After much hard work studying and preparing, students at the school, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are collecting a set of strong GCSE results and getting ready to take their next steps in their educational journey.

The school achieved well yet again, with 62% of students achieved the crucial pass in both English and Maths, whilst half the year group achieved the much more challenging ‘strong pass’ in both subjects.

Subjects that saw particular success included Art, where over 40% of students achieved grades 7 or above; English, where a quarter of the cohort achieved top grades; and in Computing, where 62% achieved a strong pass. In technical and vocational courses students did especially well in Health and Social Care (35% Distinction or Distinction*).

Kingswinford Academy students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions.

While all pupils have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Sam Griffiths, eight grade 9s, two grade 8s, one grade 7
  • Maiya-Jay Patel, seven grade 9s, one grade 8, one Distinction*
  • Grace Raxton, four grade 9s, three grade 8s, two grade 7s

Collecting GCSE results today, Maiya-Jay Patel, said:
“I'm over the moon with my results. I thank my teachers greatly. I would not have succeeded without the fantastic support I have received from my teachers over the course of my time here at Kingswinford Academy”.

Sam Griffiths, said:
