12th January 2023
We are pleased to announce that from Tuesday next week (17th January 2023), we will be part of the National School Breakfast Programme. This will run daily in the Refectory from 8.00 am.
The National School Breakfast Programme in the United Kingdom provides free breakfast to school children who may not have access to a nutritious meal before starting their school day. The programme is designed to improve children's concentration and academic performance, and to help them establish healthy eating habits.
At Kingswinford Academy we are taking it a step further. A free breakfast will be available in the morning for any student who wants one.
One of the main goals of the National School Breakfast Programme is to reduce the number of children who arrive at school hungry, which can negatively impact their ability to learn and participate in classroom activities. Studies have shown that children who eat breakfast have improved memory, attention, and problem-solving skills, and are more likely to do well in school.
In addition to improving academic performance, the national breakfast club program also aims to promote healthy eating habits among children. The program is designed to provide a balanced and nutritious breakfast each morning.
